Hugh McCabe – a man who brightened so many lives.

Members of Blacklion Golf Club could scarcely believe that Hugh McCabe had passed away. As a committee member and course convenor, Hugh has left an indelible mark on the club. His planning and vision of the course’s signature second hole was a master stroke and his hands – on approach contributed greatly to the quality of the course we have today.

But what will be most missed is the twinkle in his eye and how he could lift the spirits. Whether on the course or sitting around the clubhouse fire, his effervescent outlook ensured that even the most despondent golfer was soon laughing at his own misfortunes. Legend is an often overused word but Hugh certainly merits this tribute. He will be sorely missed.
