All good things must come to an end.

After a momentous win last year, Gerry Logue and his all Ireland fourball team finally tasted defeat in the Ulster semi-final. Trailing 4-1 from the away leg, the team managed to reverse the score at home but lost out on holes won to Rossmore GC. For a small club to reach the semi-final was special but this time it was a bridge too far. Our Cavan Monaghan Alliance team are still in with a shout after a 9-7 away defeat to Farnham, captain Noel Melanaphy will be optimistic for the return home tie.

The Open singles stableford was won by Enda Cunningham with 41 points. Donal Flanagan and Emmett Scollan tied on 39 points with Donal taking the runner-up spot on countback.

The Neven Maguire Open Stableford competition takes place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Fantastic prizes on offer
