Narm wins Kinawley Cup.

Blacklion’s Kinawley Cup is a matchplay competition held over 6 months. A lower handicapper’s consistency generally means a win for one of our top ten golfers but this year there was a surprise. Narm Boshle and Fred Potter met in the final with Narm taking the cup – a very popular winner.

In the Glenfarne Cup Doubles Matchplay, Joe Keaney and Kevin McPartlan defeated Ciaran Ryan and Kevin McElhatton in the final.

The Cavan/Monaghan Alliance team lost narrowly to Nuremore GC with the match going to the final put on the last hole. Hard luck men – a fine defence of your title.

The battle for golfer of the year is scheduled to go to the wire with Michael McHugh leading from Gaby Fee. Gaby won the end of year shootout but Michael’s 3rd place keeps him in the driving seat.

Result. 1 Gaby Fee              39

2 Kevin McPartland 39

3 Michael McHugh   38

In the Open Fourball competition, President Mel McLoughlin and Jimmy Donovan won the top prize with 48 points. Kevin McPartland and Gareth McGovern were runners-up on 47 points with Mark Connolly and Ronan McCabe third on 45 points.

The entry sheet for the winter league is now on the noticeboard.

Peter Cumisky has arranged that the defibrillator in Blacklion village will be available to the club. A list of trained volunteers is on the noticeboard. A call to one of the volunteers could save a life.
